Mining

Gems we discover today were formed over millions of years, hundreds of kilometers deep within the Earth.  Colored stones are formed under precise conditions of extreme heat and pressure and only a lucky few survive the violent journey to the earth’s surface.

The valleys of upper Burma were once rich with natural deposits of precious stones – ruby, sapphire, spinel, moonstone, peridot and jade among others.  After centuries of mining, true gem-quality stones are a rare find.
